About the Salon

My name is Sarah and I have been a hair stylist for over 20 years. I went to the Aveda Brown institute in Ohio and then I continued my career in Cleveland and in Austin Texas for many years. I came back to the Cleveland area about 6 years ago and was so happy to find a home at Phenix. I specialize in color and smoothing treatments. I really like working with blonde tones and I also love creating natural looking reds. I have always been interested in smoothing because I was born with crazy and unruly hair, and back in the 80s they really didn’t have many wonderful procedures like they do now to work with curly hair. So I focused on straightening and smoothing. I do, however love to work with some of the new products that focus on natural waves and curl. I love working with clients and working together to get them to a place with their hair that makes them happy. I consider communication to be the most important part of the process. Of course having skills is important! But, after that, being able to navigate through clients wants and needs is, in my opinion, the most important way to keep people happy and coming back.
